Conversational Hawaiian Papa Makua

SPECIAL NOTICE - PAPA MAKUA

For the October to December 2025 Session, we are recommending that all Papa Makua students attend one of the main "CH" (Conversational Hawaiian) classes in order to get a great foundation set before continuing in a dedicated Papa Makua in 2026.

LEVEL SELECTION

If you are unable to create any kind of ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi sentence yet —even if you know a lot of vocabulary words— then we recommend you attend CH1A Absolute Beginner Hawaiian. There are three "sections" to choose from: 12pm, 2pm, and 5:30pm (HST) on Mondays.

If you can create basic sentences and have an understanding of how Hawaiian phrases are structured, then we invite you to join CH1B Beginner Hawaiian, also on Mondays. The three section times are 1pm, 3pm, and 5:30pm (HST).

For those students who are already speaking in ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi at a level above 1A and 1B, then we invite you to take a look at CH2A and up.
